1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember information about your visit — for example, whether you've already dismissed a notice.
2. What We Use
MJ Maps uses essential cookies and local storage only. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics scripts.
| Name / Key | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
mj_cookie_consent_v1 | localStorage | Records that you dismissed the cookie notice so it doesn't re-appear | Persistent (until browser data cleared) |
mj_ab_dismissed_v1 | sessionStorage | Records that you dismissed the announcement bar for the current browser session | Session (cleared when tab closes) |
| Authentication JWT | localStorage (driver app) | Keeps you logged in to the driver app between sessions | Until logout or token expiry |
3. What We Do Not Use
- Google Analytics or other third-party analytics
- Facebook Pixel or advertising trackers
- Hotjar, FullStory, or session-recording tools
- Any cross-site tracking cookies
Your location data — collected by the driver app during active shifts — is not a cookie. It is covered separately in our Privacy Policy.
4. Your Choices
Because we only use essential storage, there is no tracking to opt out of. You can clear all local storage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will reset your cookie-notice preference and log you out of the driver app.
Most browsers also support "private" or "incognito" mode, which does not persist local storage between sessions.
5. Changes to This Policy
We will update this policy if we add any new storage mechanisms. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the most recent version. We will not add advertising or tracking cookies without giving you a clear choice.
